The Design Alley’s aesthetic for this Aurangabad house is a potpourri of elements that harmonize appealingly to create an authentic, hybrid look.

Revealing nuances of the household’s personality, the design captures the essence of their Rajasthani origins inside a recent setting. Acknowledging the absence of exterior views, the designers have focussed on creating an interior ambience that emanates from a lightweight grey canvas; against which patterns, textures and colors pull all the internal elements together to add pictorial weight to spaces. Whereas the use of veneer adds heat, soft furnishings and equipment break the monotony. Impartial touches and distribution of parts – each visually and bodily, makes for a careful balance of types.

Though the L-formed seating and the breakfast counter breaks the useful linearity of the open living, eating and kitchen, the seamless ceiling unifies the areas. Linear illuminated niches along the ceiling and onto the veneered wall create sturdy sight traces and emphasise the adjacencies. Anchoring this space is the furnishings – with its cloth motifs, colors and particulars. Mixing these with the kitchen dado patterns of a special fashion and scale, the space exudes an eclectic look. Comparable niches and panelling remodel the passageway ceiling, while the ceramic photo plates, the handcrafted wooden mirror and the mandir (temple) door add drama. A nook at the farther end is a studying corner that includes colour by way of transient parts.

The bedrooms converse of the individualities of the occupants. Repeating wood accents across all the rooms creates a unified look. The main bedroom attributes its uniqueness to a mix of floral chairs and Rajasthani themed work in opposition to a royal blue wall, with a dressing that highlights a designer mirror and customized basin counter against a patterned wall. The son’s bedroom radiates a peppy vibe with its colors of black, gray and orange, that accentuate quirky wall pieces and accessories. The daughter’s bed room, in distinction, is a play of triangular patterns in pastels and minimalistic furniture in opposition to dream themed paintings – an overall tranquil setting. As such, by permitting the purposeful parts to carry the room and set the tone for accessories, this stimulating interior is a fresh collage of all things old and new. take a look at the images on
